DIPLOMA IN ADLERIAN COUNSELLING |

Venue: Adlerian Counselling Centre, Narberth. |

Following satisfactory completion of the Certificate in Adlerian Counselling or equivalent qualification plus an Adlerian Access course, students are eligible to work towards the Diploma in Adlerian Counselling. |

This involves a further 310 hours of training, which, with the Adlerian Certificate of 180 hours, totals 490 hours of theory and skills, alongside ongoing personal development and a minimum of 100 hours supervised clinical practice. The Diploma equips students with the additional skills necessary to practice counselling on a professional basis. |

Experienced trainers from home and abroad present the weekend workshops, as well as other specialists being invited to facilitate many of the evening sessions. |

Timing
Two year programme over six terms, September-June with new student entry every two years i.e. September 2004, 2006 etc. Per term, there are 10 Thursday training sessions 10am-4:30pm with the core tutors, plus at least 4 Saturday workshops during the year. In addition the students meet at various times for supervision.
In relation to their clinical placement, students are also required to receive monthly supervision sessions of at least one and a half hours throughout the two year training period.

This course is accredited by the Adlerian Society of the UK, an organizational member of the BACP. |

• Satisfactory completion of the Certificate in Adlerian Counselling.
• Evidence of equivalent training will also be considered. |

CLINICAL PLACEMENT AND CLINICAL SUPERVISION
Students receive guidance regarding appropriate clinical placements, and there are a number of agencies that offer placements for students following satisfactory interview. Supervision is provide in two different categories:
1. A supervisor trained in Adlerian methods will supervise the clients that students counsel from internal referrals to the Adlerian Society.
2. Students are required to find their own supervisor to supervise the work in their clinical external placement.
Students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours satisfactory clinical practice in order to gain the Diploma.
