Counselling & Support Services
There are two possibilities regarding our Counselling and Therapy Service. We offer a Service on a sliding scale per session of between £5 - £10 to see somebody in Diploma training. To see a qualified Counsellor or Psychotherapist there is a standard charge. Here are some of the experiences and problems that we work with in our counselling.
The Adlerian Society offers one to one confidential counselling

Any emotional, psychological problem and difficulties managing any of the following:
• Becoming a family: having children, step family adjustments.
• Family breakdown: separation from loved ones and contact arrangements.
• Traumas: bereavement, loss, violence and abuse.
• Sexual development, sexual orientation and identity issues.
• Drug and alcohol misuse.
• Self harm, phobias and obsessions.
• Self esteem issues: eating and appearance disorders, social withdrawal.
• Living with chronic pain or illness: caring for self and others.
• Depression and wish to die.
• Stress and managing change.
• Employment issues: harassment, competence and working with others.
• Making and sustaining friendships.
The Adlerian Centre offers the following services:
• A service to link you with fully qualified counsellors - approx. 1 hour of counselling - one to one.
• Low-cost counselling available from our Diploma Students under supervision.
• The Seren Group are now working out of the Adlerian Centre on Monday evenings fortnightly
• Two Support Links - Bereavement Support Link and a Men in Crisis link for men who are estranged from their children.
A Support Link is a designated small ‘team’ of helpers who will meet and talk with you, have a cup of tea or coffee on a weekly basis to find out how you are, try and help you get information you need to help yourself on the way to health and peace of mind. In the future we hope to offer Support Links for those suffering from Depression and Family Support.
